Love You Nephew

My Neph is teething at the moment.  I am so soppy that when he cries I want to cry!  So after he had gone home I pulled out a peaceful photo and made a happy layout... What better than neon colours?! This cut file is from Things That Shine.  It cuts beautifully when you use the right settings for the paper, but I like this half cut one too.  It was a happy mistake! Ribbon scraps, washi, Heidi Swapp packaging, enamel dots, ink splats!  It doesn't fit the tune but these are a few of my favourite things. The butterfly was cut on my silhouette and coloured with pens and the grey alphas are from Sodalicious. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is a post first published last week on SpiegelMom Scraps blog... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For my third guest designer project for SpiegelMom Scraps I promised you a mini album... and here it is! I had a wonderful lunch at a chocolate cafe and thought it would make a lovely mini album, so I collected a few bits and pieces from the cafe.  I picked up the chocolate menu, and kept some cellophane wrapping and tissue paper used to wrap up my purchases, and the companies ribbon that was used to tie the package.  I also kept the paper bag and the label from Mum's tea bag. The plan was to build a little kit around the collected ephemera, so I searched my paper and washi stash for matching colours.  Serendipitously the ribbon in SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy shop were the perfect colours. I added cork shapes and wood veneers to my mini kit, and enough sequins for them to feature on every page.  The sequi

Fancy Cheese!

Here is a scrap layout made with Like For Ever 's April kit... I added a few little bits to my kit such as paper clips (the obsession is still going!) enamel dots and the pink plastic.  It was a catalogue wrapper that came in the post.  It was just too pretty to chuck out! And yes, I did scrap a page about cheese.  Cheese makes me happy!! Linking at Creativity Unleashed .

Unsure...

Here is a (long time un-blogged) layout created for NSD.  The Like For Ever challenge was 'use your STASH' - so use something beginning with each letter of the word stash. I picked Stitching, Triangles, All of the rub ons, Stickers and Handful of sequins.  I used up the rest of a sheet of rub ons and then used the backing cut in to triangles - nothing goes to waste here! My stitching is rarely straight.  ;) I felt the green sticker on the photo was screaming out too much being the only green in the layout so I added a few enamel dots in the same colour in a couple of places around the page. These sequins were part of a Things That Shine kit. And the pink floral pieces - yep, I cut up a stencil.  It was a Dear Lizzy stencil and it just wasn't up to the job.  It was too flimsy for anything other than just spraying mists through.  I like to scrape paste over stencils, this stencil was just getting bent and ruined by my heavy-handed-ness (not that I am part

Morning Deskers, I thought I'd give you a wide shot view of my desk today.  Spectacuar fail!  But you get the idea... Hmm... lots of stuff on my desk to either side but seeing as there is space in the middle I guess I can get away with another couple of days before tidying!! This gets lost on the main photo, plus it deserves a photo of its own anyway!  My Pet Crocheter is on top form! What's on your desk today?  Link up at WOYWW !

Chococo Sneak...

love you Layout for SpiegelMom Scraps

Hello Everyone, here is a Guest Designer project made for SpiegelMom Scraps .  It is a scrapbook layout using doilies, seam binding and sequins from two mixes. I know the trend right now is for gelatos - I have water soluble wax crayons - I guess kind of the same sort of thing, and whilst I have something similar I won't fork out for real gelatos.  I set to work on the white seam binding and doilies adding subtle touches of pastel colours, picked to match my patterned paper strips. Seam binding is great for taking colour.  I have never had a medium not take - I've used mists, inks, watercolour, pro markers, watered down acrylic paint, inktense pencils, and now soluble crayons.  Have a play... go on! As for the doileys the more water I added the more fragile they became so I recommend not moving them until they are dry to avoid tearing. Supplies: Doileys Sequins Seam Binding Art Bars from Derwent lace from Crafty Ribbons patterned paper from My Minds

Hello! Just a quick share of a layout made with my April Like For Ever kit... The white frame with gold arrows - well, it started out a different colour.  I loved it for the glitter sandwiched between two sheets of acetate but the frame itself was not my cup of tea.  Easily sorted out with some gesso and rub ons! I added loads of sequins - real ones and rub ons! And these gorgeous gold foil and white labels - I loved them so much that I ordered another pack!  :)

Animals: Just SO You

It is new challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  The theme is Animals so I have scrapped a page of Naughty Bun after her bath! I am on mission use-up-the-gold-rub-ons-before-they-go-off, so I added a camera and a generous sprinkling of hearts.  I made a little rosette with a couple of buttons and ribbon tails. The rabbit shape and the rabbit card are packaging from a graze box.  I knew as soon as I saw it I had to use it somehow! This is made using sheer Swiss dots and buttons from Crafty Ribbons.  I'd love for you to join us here with an animal project using ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!

Sneaky Peeks!

For the last two Tuesdays I have been guest designer at Spiegel Mom Scraps .  Here are a couple of tiny peeps... click on each photo to take you to the post I was sent a fabulous goodie bag containing sequins and wood veneer, tags and doilies, adhesive and ribbon.  Check out the Etsy shop . I'd love you to pop over and have a look!

love today

Here is a fun layout I made with my Silhouette Cameo and Like For Ever kit . It is such a fun cut file from The Cut Shoppe , really all I had to do was use scraps of my patterned papers to back each heart, and bam!  The page was done! I used a little paperclip from doodlebug and a scrap of plastic wrapping that had gold stars on.  Everything else was in my April kit. So fun to make.
