Hello LOVE

The last day of the month and the last layout made from my counterfeit kit from February.  This one might be my favourite... This was mission 'use the pretty stickers so you don't put them back in to your stash'.  I did well on that front, not many left and the ones that are left will need to be used on cards as they say thank you - not a sentiment I've ever used on a layout. I've used pinflair glue gel to pop up my butterfly wings. I needed to add some black to the right of the page to balance out the black of the hello and hugs stickers.  Enamel dots seem to do the job quite well. The gorgeous creature in the photo has a name beginning with E, so I backed the Love cards 'E' with a snippet of Cocoa Vanilla paper. So that is it for my February kit.  I didn't kill it entirely, but I made a good dent.  I will definitely make another scraps kit, but I will make sure to coordinate things a little better.  The ingredients I pulled out

Friday Smiles

Try as I might, I can never quite catch on camera just how orange the glow is... just how purple the shadows are... but I smile trying! Linking up at Annie's

E13

It is my turn to inspire readers over at Crafty Ribbons Inspiration blog today.  I'm sharing here in a little more detail... I wanted to make a mini tag album for my cousin.  She has turned 13  (how did that happen so quickly?!?!) and I got all nostalgic for baby photos of her.  I gathered photos from the first 5 years of her life and put them in chronological order.  Then I picked out my base - tags - in a good selection of colours and sizes.  Then I pulled out other things I wanted to include.  Once I had all these things to hand there was no stopping me... And this is what I made.  I always dress binding rings with ribbon.  This time I've used 3mm , sheer dots , flowers and hearts .   I'm not going to share every page individually but I will show my 'filler' tags.  These are the ones with no photo on.  I like to add filler pages every third or fourth tag to keep the album pretty and light. Another thing I like to do is have a common el

Peek-A-Boo! & GO

Two layouts from my Feruary Counterfeit Kit.  The photography is not great as I have the shakes and the light is poor.  This is not a great combination for photography!! Peek-A-Boo isn't finished... I need to add a title and possibly 3d embellishments but can't get it right.  I'll put it in my UFO box and visit it again in a month... I used a good amount of die cuts and bits from the ephemera pack in my kit.  And the other piece of printed acetate.  Perhaps because I have used the acetate I had high hopes for the layout, and that is why I am struggling? I am loving the vellum bits that seem to be appearing in all the ephemera packs.  Love my vellum! GO is the second layout... You could make a sketch of the first layout, flip it and you have this layout.  Totally unintentional!  Also rotate it again and you have the layout I intend to share on the last day of the month.  It seems I have struck upon something I like! I've used an Evalicious pu

Well, it's a right wonky donkey of an angle but here is my desk this fine grey Wednesday... ...taken at that angle to show off my new thredgehog from etsy.  I am a little in love! And that is where I'll leave it for this post - short and sweet as Julia likes it, so you can hit more desks ! Thanks for stopping by x

My Stars

Still loving the Flying High collection from Cocoa Vanilla.  I have cut around the bleed on the sticker sheet to give me a red ring - I like to extend the life of everything!!  I need to buy more of these tiny wood veneer stars - I adore them! And the blue lace matches the triangle paper perfectly.  I have a thing about using lace on 'boy' projects.  Lace doesn't need to be froofy and girly, of course it does froofy and girly very well, but sometimes it can just add texture and another dimension with out bringing femininity and froof!!  (Spellchecker really doesn't like that sentence!) Thanks for stopping by...

Kitchen Fairy

One of my goals for 2015 is to pick one hoarded product each month and use it up completely.  This month it is the turn of a packet of Maya Road rub ons.  They were one of the first things I bought when I started scrapbooking so we are talking years of hoarding them. I used the rub ons on a background, randomly placing them in an L shape, with the Sketchabilities sketch number 133 in mind. I then watered down my neon acrylic paints and used them as if they were watercolours.  I added a good amoint of splatters - partly because I got carried away having fun! I added some neon 3mm ribbon tabs (from Crafty Ribbons of course!) under my photo, and added Heidi Swapp photo corners.  Then I was ready for my title/journalling... I typed up "on tiptoes and a stool the kitchen fairy helps to wash up" using neon tape in my Dymo machine.  I loath this tape!  It  will  not  stick!   It is self adhesive and I've tried three different extra glues - any tips?  Every no

Cute

I saw a layout on Instagram that made me stop and say 'wow'.  It was by Ashli Oliver for Cocoa Daisy . Imagine my delight when a few days later the Sodalicious lift popped up in my feed - they obviously loved Ashli's work too.  So, here is my take on Ashli's layout with Sodalicious papers.  I've been really naughty with my sodalicous papers - I have not touched them since I ordered.  They seemed too nice to cut or cover up! I dug out some silver glitter bunting stickers from my stash, mixed in a few Crafty Ribbons buttons and a flower paper clip.  And I'm still working hard to use those horrible wood grain thickers that fall apart when you take them off the backing sheet.  This time they have been made over with white and black gesso smudged on with my finger, and finished off with a black fine liner. How nice are the papers?!  You must be able to understand my anxiety to cut in to them..? Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Smiles

I finally got outside to photograph this beauty.  So that is two smiles for this week - beautiful snowdrops and making it outside :) Linking up at Annie's and Penny's

monochrome

It is challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenges !  Our team boss Carol set the theme of 'Black and White' and the first thing that came to my mind was a domino... So I set to work fiddling around with gessos, inks and pens until I had the effect I was after.  Then I wrapped it in mini check ribbon , using super sticky red backed tape to adhere it.  Lastly I used 3d glue gel to attach the domino to a metal clip threaded with 'Moon and Back' ribbon . This clip will sit on my desk keeping together all the photos I have out waiting to be scrapped. I'd like to enter this at; Make My Monday (favourite two colours to work with) Not Just Cards Thanks for stopping by!

Last week I showed a box on my desk.  I was hesitant to share the contents as it is Christmassy but you let me know you wanted a peep...  It was packed full of bits and pretties from Things That Shine ( Etsy ) Vintage book pages and wrapping paper. Tags and 6x6 papers. Vellums and acetate. Wood veneer for days! Lots of intricate die cuts.  So this week on my desk are a few of the non-Christmassy pieces that I seperated from the kit.  Actually depending on how you look at things, a lot of the individual pieces are not Christmassy... unless you only use reds and greens at Christmas time. I feel naughty for having so many pictures on a desk post!! :) Thanks for looking at my toys... see you at your desk!

Butterflies and Ribbon

Here is a quick card I have made using my butterfly ribbon from Crafty Ribbons . It is just about as simple as it gets... card blank, small piece of patterned paper, length of ribbon, red backed super sticky tape. I'd like to enter this in Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Send A Little Love

I took part in a Valentines Day swap this year.  I enjoyed the Christmas swaps so much that I made a promise to seek out at least two other swaps throughout the year.  I stumbled across Tracey and her blog Mad About Bags. I was paired with the lovely Sarah and this is what she sent me: I marvel when I open things that are so me - rainbows, butterflies, birds, orchids, buttons and ribbon.  I love everything.  There was chocolate too.  It didn't make it in to this photo.  It's not that I have eaten it all, I promise, but it is in my snack pile and I forgot about it when I was taking photos! But here, to prove it, is the photo I posted on Instagram with the hashtag 'internet friends are the best!' And isn't this just the neatest blanket stitch in the world?! This is some of what I sent to Sarah... A little note. Lollipops for her two sons superheroes. A mini canvas.  There was more but I seem to have been so excited that I forg
