Wordless Wednesday

{Yesterday.  My Garden.  Sparrowhawk and House Sparrow.}  Linking up at Wordless Wednesday, and Wordless Wednesday !

WOYWW 256

On my desk this week is a half done layout made from scraps along with a lot of other, erm, mayhem. You can however see some of the desk surface which, I guess, makes it tidier than normal!! I'm gearing up for my guest designer spot at Counterfeit Kit Club which starts tomorrow, and I'm getting ready for National Scrapbook Day which is this weekend, and I'm going to get some nephew cuddles today, and maybe finish off this layout.  It is all pretty good really!! Hope you are all having a positive week, hugs for those that aren't, and see you at your desk !

My Pink Prize!

A little while back I was fortunate enough to win some goodies for Ashley Calder 's blog giveaway.  Everything I won was pink.  Pink confetti, pink bows, pink bunting, pink sequins, pink wands!  Here are a couple of girly layouts I put together; Sticking the confetti down one by one took time but I love the ordered effect. Oh, ok, it wasn't purely pink, there was some gold too... This makes me smile - my fairy princess is now a hockey goalkeeper and couldn't be less pink!  :D Again each piece of confetti stuck down individually but this time I threw it on and stuck it where it landed for a random effect. I want to say a massive thank you to Ashley not just for the prize but for inspiring me time and time again. Thanks for stopping by

sneak peek - GD spot for May

I have the most exciting news...  I am the May Guest Designer for Counterfeit Kit Challenge . My guest spot coincides with their Scrapbook Day celebrations - they have tonnes of inspiration and prizes - I get the feeling May is going to be amazing ! Join me on May 1st when I show off the kit I've put together :)

Note Book

I altered this little notebook for Crafty Ribbons Inspirations .  It's only 75mm by 105mm so perfect for handbags or pockets.  I don't know about you, I'm always writing little things down so I don't forget them.  I thought the new vintage ribbons sentiment made the perfect front cover!  I've layered it over some gold ribbon from a ribbon pack.   And on the back I've used a few strips of the script ribbon . A couple of close ups... Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Friday Smiles

We have these amazing tulips in the gaden at the moment.  They are purple-ish on the outside and orange on the inside.  So beautiful.  Definitely something to smile about! Linking up at Friday Smiles

Green Domino?

It's new challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenge and I'm very excited as I got to pick this weeks theme!  I went with Anything BUT A Card - so I'm hoping we'll get a huge variety of projects. I have altered a domino... I gave a few coats of white gesso to start off with a good surface Then, I got out my India inks - green, grass green and a tiny bit of black. I wrapped the side with mini gingham ribbon.  I also added a little white with my posca paint pen. And I added two buttons tied with a little more mini gingham. Using check ribbon and buttons . I also get to pick the top three - I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!  Pop over and link up any non-card project you make in the next week... WOYWW 255

I'm posting my desk today! Ha!  Take that Wednesday!  :) Yeah it's been a while but I'm here, right day, a little energy to spare, a little time to hop - it's a good day for desking . So my work space consists of rainbow piles of ribbon-y snippets, glue and scissors, oh and my WOYWW badge which I put in front of my workspace to motivate me to get my desk up on time! It's a work in progress to be showcased on International Scrapbooking Day which is May 3rd/4th - I'd better get a wriggle on then, hadn't I?! Thanks for stopping by

All Things B...

I have a layout with out photos today.  I got my inspiration from the challenge at SJ papercrafts which is to make something based on this board... I used it like a sketch, included some watercolour painting and was guided by the colour palette too. I was thinking about the name of my blog and what other names I could have used. It led me to a huge long list of loves in my life, current or in the past, that begin with B... so I documented them :) I'm quite pleased with how it all turned out except for the colour of the blossom watercolour painting.  I just could not mix the peach colour that I wanted! Thanks for stopping by! p.s. I have a giveaway running... see the previous 3 posts

Crafty Ribbons Easter Bunny Hop

Hello!  Happy Easter!  You should have arrived here at stop two of our Bunny Hop from the CR INSPIRATION BLOG. Today's showcase of ribbons also includes a Bunny Hop, so if you have just popped by to say hello to me and would like to join in with the hop you will need to start at the very beginning which is on the CR Inspiration blog.   Hop around the DT blogs in the order they are listed and leave them a comment. While you are hopping around please watch out for the lovely little bunny/bunnies which is/are hiding away and make a note of whose blog/s they are on so that when you return to the Inspiration blog you can link up with your name and which blog/s you saw the bunny/bunnies.....GOOD LUCK! I bought this wire heart cage from Panduro a good while back.  One of those things that you buy thinking you will turn it in to a masterpiece and then sit and stare at for a few months!  Any way I thought I'd give it a whirl and used paper flowers from my

Crafty Ribbons Easter Celebrations

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to another instalment of Crafty Ribbons Easter Inspiration! What have I got for you today?  A layout using the French Stamp ribbon. I made a few chevrons... This is a good way to use up little bits of grosgrain ribbon I tucked in a few word stickers, they kind of look like tabs.  Made the layout title from the ribbon. And finally made a little loop of ribbon tucked under the photo Put it all together and this is what I made... The filigree patterned lilac square and purple rectangle are the side and lid of a biscuit packet!  (M&S I believe, can't be sure though!)  I think these count as snippets (plus the ribbon chevrons cut from an end too short to be useful for anything else) - so I'm linking this up to the Playground . I've painted the twig wreath with gesso and added some pale pink flowers.  I added a snippet of French Stamp Ribbon with the words 'je t'aime.' I prettied up the flowers with some sheer dots ribbon, and added a hanging loop too. To be in with a chance of winning this Easter Candy from me; Be a follower. Friday Smiles

Two smiles from the same vase today - I just can't pick a favourite photo! Love the colour of the trumpet, it's so vivid. And the details on the petals of this one are just remarkably pretty! Linking up at Friday Smiles. p.s. Easter Celebration Showcase starts at Inspirations today!  {All my posts are organised!} p.p.s.  I have a giveaway starting tomorrow!  {This is all organised too!  Thems two more smiles!! :) }

Custard Please!

I'll leave you to decide if I'm... how shall I put this? Erm, slightly odd... I like custard.  So much so that I'll forgo whatever is for pudding, usually served with custard, to just have the custard by itself. I thought I needed to document my weirdness on a layout... Close ups of the deatails...  thin washi-type tape, lace, dotty orange washi tape, loops of ribbon, orange buttons... All of the card and paper came from my leftovers folder - very satisfying to make a layout just from odds and ends :) I used the following products from Crafty Ribbons Swiss dot - blue vapour and white Swiss dot - light blue and white Candy saddlestitch - light blue Lace - vapour Button box - dandelion delight Button box - autumn leaves I'd like to link this up to Colour Me Scrappy . Thanks for stopping by p.s. I have a giveaway starting on Saturday :)

'laugh'

Here is the next in my series of mini canvases... This one is violet and 'laugh' and measures 7cm by 5cm.   I'm having so much fun doing these that I've ordered more canvases!  This one started off with acrylic paint, followed by washi tape, followed by gesso, followed by stamping, followed by acrylic ink, followed by a scrap of ribbon, followed by a rub on. I only have the colour in my head when I start and just do what ever takes my fancy.  I'm not sure this would be the best method for all canvases but because these are small it works, at least it works for me! You can check out the other canvases in the series here: happy & wish .  I can tell you the next is 'smile' but you'll have to wait a few days for that!! Thanks for stopping by

My Little Penguin

Aww!  My little nephew came to see us dressed in a penguin babygrow - he looked just the sweetest little thing!  Of course, this needed scrapping... I really wanted to use the 'reasons why today was awesome' card so my original idea of black, white and yellow switched to grey, white and yellow.  The black was probably a little too harsh for a baby layout anyway.  I wrapped my background card with some white fibre tissue adhering it at the back.  I coloured up some seam binding and papermania alphas to get the right shade of egg yolk yellow (surely that should be penguin yellow, no?!) I added in all the penguin-y things from my stash which included a paper clip and penguin ribbon. I'm so pleased with how this turned out - it really makes me smile!

All New News!!

Hello all, I have some egg-citing news to share with you... Crafty Ribbons have an Easter celebration planned.  It'll all be happening on the Inspirations site starting on Good Friday (that's the 18th) and culminating in a Bunny Hop on Easter Monday (that's the 21st).  There will be prizes on the Inspiration site and I'll be having a special candy on my blog too, as will some of the other DT girls.  All you need to do is keep an eye on the Inspirations blog and wait for inspiration projects and more details... oh!  And keep your eyes peeled for bunnies!!!

hi

Here is a card I made with the last pieces of my Counterfeit Kit from March... The background is my forged paper made with watercolour pencils.  Seam binding from Crafty Ribbons.  And just the cutest paperclip from Freckled Fawn! I'd like to link this up at The Playground , That Craft Place and Avenue 613 . Thanks for stopping by :)

Friday Smiles

Well, I've been either too tired or too tardy to join in the last few Friday Smiles and do you know what?  I've really missed it!  It is so good to think about the week and pick out something good, something to make you smile.  To be honest I've probably needed to smile more over the weeks I've missed but that is the nature of my illness.  We battle on. These little beings have made me smile a lot.  They are garlic chives.  I'd not heard of them until a recent series by the Hairy Bikers, and seeing as garlic is my second favourite flavour (behind chocolate of course!) I thought I'd have a go at growing some.  It is odd that something as small as a seedling brings me so much pleasure! Linking up at Friday Smiles .

Sparrow's House

Fallen totally in love with this bird paper!  Had to use some on a layout... Used washi tape and layering. Clustered some flowers, loopy cord and a sticker next to my title. and added a bird shaped paper clip. I'm not very happy with how the photos have turned out - the colours look much nicer in real life. Thanks for stopping by!
